Brainstorming with Dave Ferguson
Posted by Doug Foltz on Jun 5, 2008 in Church Planting, Small Town, Strategy | 0 commentsI spend about 45 minutes today brainstorming with Dave Ferguson about small town church planting. Dave is the lead pastor at community Christian Church in Chicagoland, IL. They are a multi-site church with 9 campuses spread across the Chicago area. Dave is also the leader of the New Thing Network, a church planting network. It was fun to sit down and dream big Dave about how to plant churches in small towns. Dave mentioned that he has heard several people asking about small town planting and it is causing him to think about what God is up to.
Community Christian Church is all about reproducing churches, campuses, and leaders. In order to plant churches in small towns we need ideas that are reproducible. One of the critiques of large launch church planting is the high cost involved. In the next several blogs, I’ll begin to unpack some of the ideas that are stirring in my head.
