Hi, I’m Doug Foltz. I help church planters clarify and implement their vision. I stand alongside church planters leveraging my 15+ years of church planting experience with over 50 new churches to chart out a path toward realizing the God sized dream of making disciples through church planting. Church planting is scary, intimidating and the thrilling ride of a lifetime. I see myself as an experienced traveler willing to go on the ride with brave church planters. My contribution is maximized through the intersection of my experience and my passion to see healthy new churches started. I am a church planting junkie. I live and breathe it and don’t plan to ever do anything else but be involved in church planting.
I ‘ve been involved in church planting since accepting Christ at 17, though I didn’t know it at first and when I felt the call I pulled a Jonah. My belly of the whale experience was working the shelves at Wal-Mart. The irony was that it was a brand new Wal-Mart. Once I accepted the call and was spit out, I’ve been fully committed to planting churches. I developed this passion under the tutelage of Dr. Tom Jones while at Emmanuel School of Religion. In 2004, I moved to Charlotte, NC to help plant LifePointe Christian Church.
I’m married to Amanda Foltz. She is an incredible help to me in my ministry and my best friend. We have two wonderful kids. They have taught me much about life and deepened my relationship with God in many ways. In addition to church planting, I love gardening. I live in a small rural town in Illinois which allows me to embrace the simplicity of growing things and preserving them to eat later. In the city, you’d call it living green. Here its just a way of life. If you called it green, you might be taken for a liberal city slicker. I also have a passion for Illinois basketball and love spending time on the U of I campus. Those who know me also would tell you I have a small addiction to Apple products. My favorite apps are Pulse, iBooks and whatever the latest game craze is.
